Today, Deschutes County District Attorney Patrick Flaherty joined with school administrators, law enforcement partners, mental health professionals and other community leaders to renew our shared commitment to school safety by signing an agreement and endorsing protocols for dealing with acts of violence in our schools. In light of the recent, tragic events at Bend High School, we are reminded how important a shared commitment to school safety is, as well as a shared commitment to always improving our approach to this very difficult issue, if at all possible. Our children deserve our tireless efforts to keep them safe from harm.
