Deschutes County District Attorney John Hummel completed his review of the circumstances surrounding the death of Scott Douglas Baksis in the Deschutes County Jail on December 3, 2020. District Attorney Hummel concluded that the manner of death was by suicide. The cause of death is still to be determined, as we are awaiting the final autopsy report from the medical examiner. Regardless of the cause of death, this was a non-criminal incident.
